SLU Students for Life is committed to learning about and standing up for current human life issues, especially those that are prevalent in our community. One such issue is the death penalty. So far this year there have been 7 executions in the state of Missouri, more than the state's combined total for the past 8 years (Death Penalty Information Center).

The execution of Earl Ringo, a man who committed two murders in 1998, is set for Wednesday, September 10th.

The death penalty is an issue that is complicated for many people, including members of our club. We must keep the families of the murder victims, the family of Mr. Ringo, Mr. Ringo himself, and everyone involved in the case and execution in our minds and hearts.

Missourians for Alternatives to the Death Penalty hosts a Vigil ahead of each execution on the steps of St. Francis Xavier College Church on the corner of Grand and Lindell.

Since this Vigil conflicts with our weekly meeting time, members of SLU Students for Life who want to participate will continue the Vigil after our meeting.
